ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to)

The Accounting Manager is responsible for guiding the day-to-day accounting activities. This position supervises the Accounting and Accounts Payable staff and interfaces with the Accounts Receivable staff. This position ensures functioning internal controls, complete and accurate financial statements, and supports audit and regulatory reporting.

  • Manages the general ledger, including the preparation of journal entries, accounts analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation work papers to ensure the preparation of complete, accurate and timely financial
  • Working with the Controller, organizes, compiles and reviews accounts, reports and data supporting the various audits, tax filings, regulatory filings, and other reporting
  • Supports the Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements to create and maintain efficient processes supporting strong internal controls and timely and accurate results.
  • Works with the Controller and Senior Accountants to prepare adjusting journal entries necessary to reflect appropriate account activity for the Foundation and assists in financial statement preparation for the Foundation.
  • Provides oversight to Senior Accountant responsible for maintaining fixed assets and associated depreciation schedules.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND/OR TRAINING

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, required; CPA desirable
  • Minimum five years accounting and management experience Healthcare or long-term care accounting experience, a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills - vlookup, pivot tables, charts, data sourcing; SQL experience reporting tools, a plus
  • Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software
  • Experience with WorkPlace or similar accounts payable software
  • Experience working with government programs and the various reporting requirements associated with those contractual relationships; knowledge of regulations (i.e., Medicare, Medicaid, HUD, insurance, etc.), a plus
