Minimum Qualifications:
- Michigan Certification as School Administrator
- Master’s Degree Education Leadership required
- Five years successful teaching experience required
- Experience in a Middle School setting preferred
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong sense of mission for serving students and community
- Knowledge of current educational research and practices
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and experience with school improvement
- Knowledge of instructional technology
- Secondary administrative experience preferred
- Regular, dependable attendance is critical performance factor
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Principal in the overall administration of the school
- Assumes responsibility in the absence of the Principal
- Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases as necessary
- Organizes and assists in supervision of halls, cafeteria, gymnasium, etc.
- Assists in supervising after school and evening activities
- Assists Principal in formulating building policy and regulations
- Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational, related activities, and objectives
- Performs such record keeping functions and paperwork as the Principal may direct
- Assists in the interpretation, communication, and development of school policies
- Assists in the evaluation of personnel
- Assists in the area of curriculum organization and improvement
- Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Principal may assign
- Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals, and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interests with others in the field
