Overview: The Graphic Design & Print Production Student Employee Intern supports the daily creative and production operations of the campus print shop at a community college. This part-time internship provides hands-on experience in preparing, adapting, and producing print-ready materials for a variety of college departments while also contributing original promotional designs for the campus bookstore.

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities (TDRs) and Learning Outcomes:
● Adapt and rework existing graphic designs from college departments (CD,TC)
● Prepare digital files for production by checking fonts, links, sizing, color accuracy, and overall file integrity (CD, TC)
● Create original promotional and marketing materials for the campus bookstore (CD)
● Communicate professionally with print shop staff and campus clients (PF, CM)
Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities or KSOAs)
Qualified candidates will have the following competencies and skills:
● Basic to intermediate proficiency in graphic design principles, including layout, typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy
● Working knowledge of industry-standard design software, such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (or equivalent)
● Understanding of print production fundamentals, including file setup, resolution, color modes (RGB vs. CMYK), bleeds, and margins
● Ability to follow established brand guidelines and apply them consistently across materials
● Strong attention to detail and accuracy when preparing files for print
● Ability to accept feedback and make revisions in a timely, professional manner Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a production environment
● Clear written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
● Basic organizational skills, including file naming and version control
● Willingness to learn print shop workflows, equipment, and safety procedures
● Professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude in a customer-focused campus setting
● Eligible to work in the United States
● GPA of at least 2.0 or higher at the time of hire
● Enrolled in at least six credit hours during the fall semester
