Oaks has been protecting homes and businesses across Rochester since 2003. It's a family-owned company that grew into a group of businesses serving Western NY, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Our commercial division is growing, and we need a skilled Service Technician to keep our commercial clients' roofs in top shape. You'll be the expert who shows up, finds the problem and fixes it right the first time.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnosing and repairing leaks on commercial roofs, including flat, low-slope, and metal systems
- Working with EPDM, TPO, PVC, modified bitumen, and other commercial materials
- Doing routine inspections and preventive maintenance so small issues don't become big ones
- Responding to service calls and emergency repairs (you're the hero when the storm hits)
- Writing up clear notes, photos, and recommendations for each job
- Being the friendly, professional face of Oaks with property managers and business owners
- Mentoring apprentices and helpers on the job
What We're Looking For
- 2 years of roofing experience, with commercial or flat-roof experience strongly preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills. You like figuring out where the water is really coming from.
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and outdoors year-round
- Able to work on your own and manage your day
- Good communication skills with customers and your crew
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- OSHA 10/30 or manufacturer certifications are a plus
