Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items with precision, adhering strictly to recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pans, poaching stations, and food production appliances
- Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitizing procedures throughout all stages of food handling and preparation
- Assist with menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes or specials that align with culinary trends and guest preferences
- Support dietary department needs by understanding dietary restrictions and ensuring proper food handling techniques are followed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during high-volume service periods
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety management protocols and quality control guidelines
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a line cook or in a similar food industry role, preferably with fine dining or catering experience
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and food handling regulations
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and food production processes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Prior dietary aide experience or dietary department knowledge is a plus but not required
