The ideal candidate will be a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) who can lead and manage the operations of a laboratory, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and accuracy in all lab functions.
Position Summary:
The Lab Manager will oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring that all laboratory tests are performed accurately and in a timely manner. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with regulations, and implementing quality control measures. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of medical laboratory sciences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee day-to-day laboratory operations, ensuring adherence to established protocols and regulations.
- Supervise laboratory staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of laboratory tests, including sample preparation, analysis, and reporting.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Monitor laboratory safety practices and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret and communicate test results.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies and managing vendor relationships.
- Prepare and maintain laboratory records, including test results, equipment maintenance, and quality control documentation.
- Assist in budget management and cost control for laboratory operations.
- Stay updated on advancements in laboratory technology, procedures, and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
- Must be a certified Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS).
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of laboratory best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in laboratory equipment, instruments, and Orchard Software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

- Phlebotomy: 1 year (Preferred)
