Competencies:
The potential employee must have the ability to demonstrate knowledge of wellness and recovery principals; psychotropic medications and uses; understand the need for respect and provides opportunities for self-advocacy; ability to provide supports and resources to staff to accomplish program goals and knowledge of risk reduction techniques; awareness of the limitations of developmental disabilities on social functioning; and the ability to appropriately manage aggressive behavior; Possess computer skills including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities:
- Recruiting, training, and developing a highly motivated and effective team.
- Provides guidance, leadership and coaching to employees and ensures timely feedback including performance appraisals.
- Ensures physical plant meets regulatory standards and Agency expectations.
- Responsible for the clinical records of all consumers served including timely treatment plans, all assessments and discharge planning. Clinical records are expected to meet Agency standards as well funding source requirements.
- Works with the Director to develop financial plans and implement at the programs.
- Ensures that employees are aware of changes in regulations and policy and procedures.
- Conducts meetings, at minimum monthly, with employees in a group or individually.
- Responsible for staffing of all programs to ensure appropriate level of care and services are being provided.
- Participate in committee’s as appointed internally and in the community.
- Responsible for maintaining a positive working relationship with DMHAS representatives and other community representatives.
- Must cooperate with all investigations, internal and externally.
- Be available for emergency situations on a 24 –hour basis via cell phone

Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in a Mental Health Related field preferred; OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Mental Health field plus two years' experience in mental health field; OR
- active RN license plus two years of experience in mental health field; OR
- Associates degree plus 5 yeras' experiencein the mental health field;
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in a residential mental health field
