Oaks and Sprouts is pleased to offer the position of Market Garden Assistant to continue growth of our market garden in 2026. This position will help plant, tend, harvest, pack, and sell crops from 4-5 acres of mixed produce using regenerative practices.

· 1-2 positions available August - December 2026 with potential to extend
· $17 - $19/hour starting at 8-40 hours per week
· Typical shifts range Sunday through Saturday 5AM – 11PM

Responsibilities
· Perform crop production duties including but not limited to soil prep, seeding, weeding, fertilizing, transplanting, harvesting, washing, and packing.
· Maintain clean and safe facilities for staff and food production
· Follow all USDA Produce Food Safety requirements for vegetable, herb, fruit, cottage good, and microgreen production
· Wear clean and presentable attire for on farm work, wholesale delivery of goods, and/or public retail of goods as scheduled with management. Footwear, gloves, and rainwear are provided.
· Work with additional staff and owners/management and accomplish tasks collaboratively
· Management of grounds including: line trimming, mowing, and hedge trimming/removal, litter cleanup, and flower planting.
· Must know and abide by the Oaks and Sprouts Limited Employee Handbook and Workplace Safety Policies upon hiring.
Requirements
· Experience growing vegetables, herbs, or other agricultural products
· Familiar with market garden, organic, and regenerative agriculture principles
· The ability to proficiently operate a variety of computer applications for team communication and project management such as Quickbooks and ClickUp.
· Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly.
· Willing and able to spend significant time on your feet/moving and in adverse weather conditions in farm fields, high tunnels, and farmers markets.
· Must be able to walk in vegetable paths carrying produce crates and/or tools in wet conditions.
· Experience identifying, avoiding, and communicating hazardous natural conditions such as poison ivy, snakes, insects, and ground/environment conditions.
· Excellent communication and people skills
· Required – Valid United States Driver’s License
· Required Language(s): read and speak English
· No smoking, tobacco use, or vaping is allowed on property or while working.
