Classified Substitutes Needed

• Position: Substitute Cook

Hours Scheduled:        3.25–7 hours per day (as needed)    

Rate of Pay:                2^nd Cook $16.01

Rate of Pay:                Head Cook - $17.28

• Position: Substitute Educational Assistant

Hours Scheduled:        7.5 hours per day

Rate of Pay:                $15.89

• Position: Substitute Custodian

Hours Scheduled:        8 hours per day

Rate of Pay:                $16.98

Summary:

Substitute Cook:

The Head Cook prepares meals, supervises other Food Services employees assigned to the building program and plans the menus to meet state requirements for the building program.  The Head Cook is also responsible for keeping records on meals served, food orders, inventory and receipts.

The 2^nd Cook position participates in the operation of a school kitchen, and assists in preparing meals at the school. 

Substitute Educational Assistant:

To improve student achievement by assisting a licensed teacher in the planning and implementation of an educational program, including individualized education programs (IEPs).

Substitute Custodian:

Perform routine building, grounds custodial, and maintenance work.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Must obtain a Food Handlers card.
3. Ability to supervise and personally perform the major cooking tasks in preparing school lunches.
4. Knowledge of food ordering/menu planning and preparation to meet state requirements.
5. Knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation requirements of food preparation and handling.
6. Computer knowledge and proficient at Excel and Microsoft Word.
