Lifeguard

Oakmont Country Club is seeking attentive, responsible, and service-oriented Lifeguards to join our Aquatics team. Lifeguards are responsible for monitoring pool activities, ensuring the safety of members and guests, and enforcing all pool rules and safety guidelines. The ideal candidate remains alert throughout their shift and is prepared to respond quickly and effectively in any emergency situation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours.

• Maintain constant surveillance of members and guests in the pool and surrounding deck areas.

• Enforce all pool rules and safety guidelines established by the club.

• Monitor weather conditions to ensure members and guests remain safe.

• Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of members and guests in the event of an emergency.

• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.

• Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude while providing excellent customer service.

• Perform maintenance duties as directed to help maintain a clean and safe facility.

• Assist with organizing and supervising pool activities, including parties and special events.

• Provide swim lessons and assist with coaching the swim team when applicable.

• Stock clean towels and return used towels to the laundry department.

• Maintain a clean and organized pool environment.

• Report any safety issues or concerns to the Pool Manager.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current Lifeguard certification required.

• Acceptable certifications include those issued by:

  • American Red Cross

  • YMCA

  • Jeff Ellis & Associates, Inc.

• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required.

• Strong attention to safety and ability to remain alert for extended periods.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to respond quickly and calmly in emergency situations.

Work Environment

• Outdoor pool environment during the summer season.

• Requires standing, walking, and extended periods of active observation.

• Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
