Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this vital role, you will assist with medication administration, provide personal care, and support residents’ overall well-being within a senior living or healthcare facility. Your expertise will help ensure residents receive safe, respectful, and effective care while maintaining compliance with all healthcare regulations. Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols
  • Monitor and record residents’ vital signs, medication effects, and overall health status
  • Assist residents with personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support
  • Maintain detailed medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner
  • Support residents with specialized needs including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice care
  • Follow all HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive medical records
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to report changes in residents’ conditions and participate in care planning meetings
  • Ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations and safety standards through manual handling and heavy lifting when necessary
  • Assist with tube feeding, catheter care, and other medical procedures under supervision of licensed nursing staff
  • Provide compassionate support to residents with developmental disabilities or those requiring assisted living services

Skills

  • Proven experience working with geriatric patients in senior living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and basic life support (BLS) including CPR and first aid certifications
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks related to resident care
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members, residents, and families
  • Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, memory care strategies, and behavior management techniques
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality at all times
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges is highly valued
  • Ability to adhere to state Board of Nursing requirements and healthcare regulations governing medication administration and patient safety
