Minimum Qualifications
- Group exercise teaching certification from nationally recognized organization.
- Candidates pursuing certification will be considered but certification must be obtained within three months of hiring.
- Certification must be for the format(s) applied for (for example: Zumba certification, yoga certification, Barre certification, etc.). CPR/First Aid certifications must be obtained upon hiring.
Desired Qualifications
Prior group exercise teaching experience either in person, virtually, or both.
Experience teaching a variety of age groups and demographics.

Position Purpose
Teach a variety of group exercise class formats for students, faculty/staff and community members of the Oakland University Recreation Center.
Job Duties
Lead/teach group exercise classes in a variety of formats for recreation center members.
Design and create class content.
Provide monitoring of class participants during sessions.
Implement safety and risk management protocols as necessary.
