What are the responsibilities and job description for the State and Federal Programs Consultant position at Oakland Schools?
IN THIS ROLE:
You will offer leadership, professional development, consulting services, resource creation, and
technical support to local school districts, public school academies, and community partners in
Oakland County, focusing on State and Federal Programs. You will support districts in implementing, monitoring and evaluating programs, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements, and strengthening systems that improve student outcomes.
WHAT WE NEED:
- Provides leadership and support to local districts, educators, community partners, and families in State and Federal Programs in Oakland County.
- Leads local, regional, and statewide projects/initiatives in service of local districts, educators, community partners, and families.
- Designs and conducts professional learning opportunities for local districts, educators, community partners, and families.
- Supports districts with integrating the implementation of State and Federal Programs throughout the district continuous improvement process.
- Provides technical assistance to local districts, educators, community partners, and families on federal legislation/regulations and state mandates regarding State and Federal Programs.
- Serves as a liaison to external agencies such as the Michigan Department of Education, universities, and professional organizations.
- Works within the assigned team to identify, design, manage, assess, and evaluate products and services.
- Maintains knowledge of current research, leading-edge developments, and legal mandates related to State and Federal Programs.
- Works cooperatively with local districts, educators, community partners, and families on efforts related to State and Federal Programs.
- Facilitates the Oakland Equitable Services Collaborative by conducting outreach, compiling data, and providing professional learning and technical assistance to district and private school leaders, ensuring equitable private school participation in federal programs.
- Builds leadership capacity among educators in the county in State and Federal Programs.
- Creates and oversees the development of resources and services for educators.
- Composes grant proposals and manages resultant grants according to outlined grant expectations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Master’s degree or higher with a focus in Education or Finance/Business.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in K-12 State and Federal Programs.
- Understanding of educational systems, legal issues, policies, research, and trends in State and Federal Programs.
- Ability to properly utilize technology necessary for conducting professional learning and work productivity.

SALARY DETAILS:
$100,969 - $117,093 salary based on relevant prior work experience, with the potential to earn up to $126,096 after employment with Oakland Schools.
Exempt position / 12-month work year.
