Science Education Consultant
Start Date: July 1, 2024
IN THIS ROLE:
We are looking for a dynamic, collaborative individual to provide leadership, professional learning, consulting, resource development, and technical assistance to the local school districts, public school academies, and community partners in Oakland County in Science Education.
WHAT WE NEED:
· Provide leadership and support to local districts, educators, community partners, and families in Science Education in Oakland County.
· Lead local, regional, and statewide projects/initiatives in service of local districts, educators, community partners, and families.
· Design and conduct professional learning opportunities for local districts, educators, community partners, and families in Science Education.
· Provide technical assistance to local districts, educators, community partners, and families on federal legislation/regulations and state mandates regarding Science Education.
· Serve as a liaison to external agencies such as the Michigan Department of Education, universities, and professional organizations in Science Education.
· Work within the assigned team to identify, design, manage, assess, and evaluate products and services in Science Education.
· Maintain knowledge of current research, leading edge developments, and legal mandates related to Science Education.
· Work cooperatively with local districts, educators, community partners, and families on efforts related to Science Education.
· Build leadership capacity among educators in the county in Science Education.
· Create and oversee the development of resources and services for educators in Science Education.
· Compose grant proposals and manage resultant grants according to outlined grant expectations.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED:
· Master’s degree or higher in science or a related field is required. Doctorate degree is preferred.
· Minimum of five years’ work experience related to Science Education, such as classroom teaching responsibilities or working in diverse schools/districts.
· Valid Teaching Certificate in the area of science or a related field.
· Deep content expertise in the area of K-12 science.
· Strong knowledge of adult learners and group facilitation skills.
· Ability to properly utilize technology necessary in conducting professional learning and work productivity.
SALARY DETAILS:
$96,106.00 - $111,453 based on experience, with the potential of earning up to $120,023.00 Annually / Exempt Position / 12-month work year. Start Date: July 1, 2024
