Retail Janitorial Associate

At Justice Grown, we're looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who take pride in creating clean, safe, and welcoming environments.

 

As a Retail Janitorial Associate, you'll play an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of our dispensary for both customers and employees. From daily housekeeping to deep cleaning and special event support, you'll help ensure every area of the facility reflects the high standards of the Justice Grown brand while supporting a positive customer experience.

This is a part-time position regularly scheduled for approximately 25 hours per week. Employees are generally scheduled six (6) days per week, working approximately five (5) hours per shift based on business needs. Schedule flexibility may be required to support business operations, special events, and seasonal cleaning needs.

 

What You'll Do

Your responsibilities include:

Janitorial & Facility Maintenance

  • Clean and sanitize all public and employee restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, countertops, mirrors, walls, partitions, floors, fixtures, and dispensers.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain all flooring throughout the dispensary.
  • Dust shelving, displays, vents, baseboards, windowsills, door frames, and other fixtures.
  • Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces including door handles, countertops, display cases, employee workstations (as assigned), and breakroom surfaces.
  • Spot clean walls, doors, windows, glass, and other surfaces as needed.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles daily and replace liners.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the sales floor, lobby, offices, hallways, employee breakroom, storage rooms, and other common areas.
  • Restock restroom supplies including paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, and other consumable items.
  • Maintain janitorial supply inventory and notify management when replenishment is needed.
  • Properly use, store, and maintain cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies in accordance with Company safety standards.
  • Report facility damage, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or supply shortages to management.
  • Perform additional housekeeping and janitorial duties as assigned.

Breakroom & Employee Areas

  • Clean and sanitize employee breakroom tables, countertops, sinks, microwaves, refrigerators, and shared appliances.
  • Clean and sanitize the employee refrigerator at least once each week, including removing expired or abandoned food in accordance with Company policy.
  • Wipe down the exterior of refrigerators and other breakroom appliances daily to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.

Event & Exterior Maintenance

  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of Company meetings, vendor events, patient appreciation events, community outreach events, and other special events.
  • Restore dispensary areas following events by removing trash, cleaning tables and chairs, and returning spaces to normal operating condition.
  • Sweep entrances and sidewalks to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Remove litter, debris, and trash from parking lots, sidewalks, landscaped areas, and around the exterior of the building.
  • Remove snow from entrances, sidewalks, and designated walkways and apply salt or ice melt as directed.
  • Monitor exterior areas during winter weather and report hazardous conditions requiring additional attention.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all Company sanitation, safety, security, and cannabis compliance requirements.
  • Adhere to established cleaning procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
  • Meet individual and team performance expectations and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Team Collaboration

  • Works cooperatively with all dispensary team members.
  • Communicates effectively regarding facility needs, cleaning priorities, and maintenance concerns.
  • Supports a positive, professional, and customer-focused environment.
  • Takes pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming dispensary for employees and customers.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. They are able to work independently while supporting a collaborative team and understand the importance of cleanliness in a highly regulated retail environment.

Qualifications include:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
  • Experience working in retail, hospitality, healthcare, or similar environments is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time-management and prioritization abilities.
  • Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals.
  • Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be able to successfully pass all required background checks in accordance with applicable cannabis regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

•    Stand and walk for extended periods.
•    Bend, kneel, crouch, stoop, and reach frequently.
•    Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
•    Operate cleaning equipment and push janitorial carts.
•    Use cleaning chemicals while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
•    Work indoors and outdoors while maintaining entrances, sidewalks, and parking areas.
