Description:
The Oakland Home Store is a destination buying experience for both the casual shopper and home decorators alike. You can always expect to find a blend of the new and vintage in the ever changing atmospheres of Buildings 1 and 2. We carry an assortment of products including Home decor, Furniture, Lighting, Dining and Entertaining, Vintage One of a kinds, and Seasonal decor. We are The Premier Christmas experience in the Central Ohio area. We hold a special niche attached to The Oakland Nursery Dublin location and share specific outdoor spaces.
Position Overview:
This is a SEASONAL POSITION with potential to transition into a longer term role based on performance and business needs. We are looking to add seasonal members to our team for our LATE AUGUST to LATE DECEMBER busy season.
We love all things HOME, but we love people more. As a Seasonal HOME Store Sales Associate, you'll be at the forefront of the sales process, greeting customers as they come into our stores and assisting them at every step of the buying process. You'll maintain high product knowledge to answer customers' questions and direct them to the right products. You'll also help keep the store in order by restocking items and tidying up as necessary, as well as other day to day tasks that include pricing products or assisting in display work under the direction of our Visual Staff. Again, this is a SEASONAL POSITION with potential to transition into a longer term position based on performance and business needs.
What a day in the role looks like:
- Welcome customers into the store using a friendly, polite tone.
- Inform customers about current Monthly Specials or sale promotions.
- Keep the sales floor, register area, and processing counter tidy and well-organized.
- Process customer payments and issue receipts using cash registers, maintaining service standards and following proper company procedures.
- Clear communication and ability to take direction and adjust priorities as needed.
Skills & Experience Needed:
- Experience in a customer-focused retail role or environment.
- Ability to operate registers & point of sale systems efficiently and accurately.
- Thorough understanding of customer service expectations and best practices.
- Ability to shift focus between store projects per the direction of Management while maintaining a “Customer First” mindset.

Requirements:
This is a seasonal role. We have extended holiday hours during our Holiday Season, 9am-6pm. Weekend availability & the ability to work key event dates are required.
- Weekend availability is required, specifically Saturdays and Sundays.
- REQUIRED 2026 SEASONAL WORK DAYS MAY INCLUDE, but are not limited to: 10/31 thru 11/4, 11/27, 12/26.
- Ability to frequently stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, and climb ladders.
- Ability to move and transfer product, reaching overhead, and team-lifting up to 40lbs.
- This is a non-sedentary position; ability to move throughout the store during a shift may be necessary, with breaks.Standing and moving continuously is a part of this role.
- Ability to push and pull merchandise with the assistance of proper material handling equipment (e.g. carts, storage racks, etc).
- Ability to safely access all areas of the store including sales floor, stock area, and registers.
- Ability to operate store equipment such as computers, cash registers, and other store equipment.
