Required Minimum Qualifications
Must meet one of the following educational requirements:
Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with status as a freshman or sophomore status (equates to steps 1 or 2 of salary range).
Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with status as a junior/senior status (equates to steps 3 or 4 of salary range).
Current enrollment in an accredited college or university in a graduate degree program (equates to steps 5 or 6 of salary range).

What You’ll Do
- Visit active water main, sanitary sewer, and stormwater infrastructure projects across Oakland County
- Observe engineers and contractors implementing modern rehabilitation techniques
- Assist with site visits, inspections, and field data collection
- Help document project conditions, progress, and field observations
- Support engineering staff with reports, project records, and documentation
- Utilize spreadsheets and databases to organize data and assist with basic calculations
- Assist with updating drawings, maps, and project-related materials
- Gain hands-on, real-world experience in infrastructure engineering
- See how engineering plans translate into actual construction projects
- Learn about innovative technologies used to rehabilitate aging systems with minimal disruption
- Work alongside experienced engineers and industry professionals
- Make an impact on projects that support public health, environmental protection, and community development
- Exposure to water main rehabilitation, sanitary sewer renewal, and stormwater management projects
- Insight into how large-scale infrastructure projects are planned, coordinated, and executed
- A balance of fieldwork and office-based engineering support tasks
- Firsthand experience with modern underground infrastructure rehabilitation methods
- Students pursuing degrees in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field
- Individuals interested in infrastructure, public works, or environmental systems
