Summary of Purpose

Oakland Community College is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technology Instructor who will participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs, courses, and other experiences that will directly result in the educational growth of the students and support advancement of the strategic plan of the program and college.

$62,440 - $70,857 Starting Base Salary ($62,440 - $112,678 full salary range for the 2025-26 Salary Schedule - *2026-27 Salary Schedule PENDING).

Potential for additional pay:
Overload – 60% over base
Supplemental contract
Clinical Coordination

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Experience and interest in teaching Radiologic Technology courses, particularly technical courses
  • Experience in curriculum development for college-level lecture and laboratory components, if applicable
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff
  • Experience and interest in course assessment
  • Willingness to coordinate adjunct section, books and lab materials, if applicable
  • Interest in reviewing course materials for adoption for personal and adjunct use
  • Recent participation in professional development
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Ability to work as a team player in a multi-cultural, diverse working environment
  • Interest in participating in campus and college committees
  • Experience working jointly with laboratory support staff
  • Proficiency using learning management systems (e.g., D2L or Canvas) for course delivery and/or assessment
  • Participates in development and implementation of program goals, clinical objectives, and clinical evaluation system
  • Evaluates and assures clinical education effectiveness through a schedule of continuous site visits to clinical education sites
  • Facilitates appropriate supervision and instruction of students in clinical setting; evaluates clinical competence of each student
  • Establishes standard method for image evaluation and regularly scheduled sessions in film critique to provide students with program consistency and effectiveness
  • Supports Program Director to assure effective program operations, in accordance with the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) standards
  • Participates in assessment process, in accordance with JRCERT standards.
  • Meets regularly with Program Director to provide up-to-date student clinical progress reports
  • Coordinates and maintains student clinical records including, but not limited to attendance, competency evaluations, progress reports, technologist evaluations, and clinical instructor evaluations
  • Participates in student conferences, student selection processes for entry into the program, and information sessions for prospective students
  • Participates in Advisory Committee Meetings, Clinical Instructor meetings, and on committees consistent with serving the goals of Program

Minimum Education and Experience

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Credentialed in good standing by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

EXPERIENCE:
  • At least two (2) years of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT accredited program. Community college teaching preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of clinical experience in radiology.
