Business Office Clerk
Oakland City University is searching for a full time Business Office Clerk located at 138 N. Lucretia Street, Oakland City, IN 47660.
Qualifications: B.S. in Business, preferable; high school diploma required. Experience with computerized accounting Procedures; bookkeeping skills/experience; must be accurate, efficient, and capable of handling detailed work assignments; ability to get along and communicate with staff, administrators, students and the public.
General Description: This position will provide customer assistance via the front desk, phone calls, emails, etc. This position will also assist with Accounts Receivables (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) as directed by the Assistant Director of the Business Office.
Essential Functions:
- Always maintains respect for confidential information.
- Operates, as directed, and understands the University’s computerized accounting system.
- Assists in maintaining financial records.
- Prepares bank deposits and distributes the daily accounting batches.
- Assists with clerical duties as assigned.
- Balances the student housing deposit lists with the general ledger.
- Distributes inner office mail to the Business Office employees.
- Distributes student paychecks and prepares the mail out lists.
- Assists with the registration process each semester for Main Campus, Non-Traditional, and Correspondence students.
- Assists customers at the Business Office window.
- Answers phones and takes messages as needed.
- Processes and distributes gift deposits.
- Process AP and related duties.
- Maintains Business Office supply stock and replenishes it as needed.
- Keeps paper, toner, and ribbons in office machines. Calls necessary vendors for repairs.
- Assists with scheduling Business Office work study.
- Processes all additional data as requested by Management.
- Receipts payments into accounting software.
- Assist in running monthly billing statements and mailing to students.
- Assist with student financial agreements, collection processes and other AR related duties.
