Job Title: Forklift Operator

Summary:

Operate Forklift, by performing duties

*Be able to stack boxes that weigh approximately 5 lbs.-65 lbs. as well as any other general work around the packinghouse facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate forklift in a safe and responsible manner while following all safety rules and regulations
• Move box material to assigned locations, load and unload produce from trucks and or product line.
• Make sure truck drivers check tires on all trucks before loading or unloading.
• Handle all produce in a manner that compiles with food safety program.
• Inspect forklift daily and fill out forklift checklist to identify all malfunctions or repair needs.
• Re-stack all damaged pallets or pallets with damaged boxes as needed.
• Wash forklift weekly. Attend all safety meetings.
• Comply with company policies, safety rules and regulations.

• One to two years related experience and or training.
• Hours will vary with this position, must be ready and able to handle whatever hours are necessary.
• Must be able and ready to travel to any other job locations as directed, such as other locations.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents, such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level in work environment is usually loud. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.

Rate starts at $12.00 or may be negotiable depending on experience!
