JOB DECRIPTION
The Senior Tax Accountant role is responsible for managing current and cultivating new client relationships. This is an excellent opportunity to join a boutique sized, family office type team with defined career tracks as we grow.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
· Preparation of personal, trusts and business tax returns for clients in multiple states
· Complete, review and analyze tax documentation for business and personal returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations
· Tax Projections and expert advice on tax planning strategies to proactively identify tax savings opportunities through the year
· Assist business owners with entity structure
· Leading tax engagements and communicating directly with clients throughout the year
· Perform bookkeeping and accounting tasks using Quickbooks
· Sales tax return preparation
· Payroll tax return review and reconciliation
· Help business owners grow and enhance the value of their companies
· Find and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
· Follow firm standards, procedures, and compliance requirements while helping improve and refine processes as we continue to grow.
· Actively participate in training and development to continually improve ability to provide best advice and optimal service for clients
Qualification Requirements:
· Minimum of 4 years in public accounting
· CPA or EA Certification
· Bachelor’s Degree – preferably in accounting
· Experience with Ultratax and Quickbooks
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office
· Experience participating in tax planning and client advisory conversations preferred but not required
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Comfortable levering technology, automation and AI tools to improve client service and internal efficiency
· Strong organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
· Desire to work in a team environment and be a team player
· Ability to manage and process multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
· Committed to professional development and willingness to contribute to the growth of the firm
