Duties
- Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development and learning.
- Supervise children during play, meals, naps, and outdoor activities including nature walks to ensure safety at all times.
- Assist with classroom organization, including setting up materials and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily routines, milestones, and any concerns to foster strong partnerships.
- Follow mandated reporting laws to report any signs of neglect or abuse promptly and appropriately.
- Help support children with special needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing individualized care as needed.
- Help maintain compliance with health and safety standards through regular sanitation and safety checks.
- Keep up to date with state mandated trainings and professional development hours as well as attend monthly staff meetings.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, childhood development stages, and behavior management strategies.
- Certification in first aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), pediatric first aid or similar safety training is required.
- Experience working with infants, toddlers, or children with special needs enhances your ability to provide compassionate care.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and child supervision best practices is essential.
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws ensures compliance with legal responsibilities related to child safety.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, children, and team members to foster a collaborative environment.
