Job Summary:            

Inputs and updates loan data into bank’s computer system.  Prepares, assembles, and verifies the accuracy of loan documentation packages in support of loan applications and as required by the Loan Officer.  Provides related customer service; processes pay-offs; and verifies collateral and insurance on new and existing loans.  The Loan Processor/TRID Specialist prepares and services loans of a more complex type and amount, and/or requiring greater analysis and documentation.

This position is based on-site at our Marshall, VA location. Please note that remote or hybrid work options are not available for this role.


Essential Functions:

  • Detailed knowledge of TRID including preparing Loan Estimates and Closing Disclosures is essential.
  • Knowledge of the consumer mortgage process along with disclosure timelines is required.
  • Must be able to work with all loan officers and to keep the loan process on track according to regulation timelines.
  •  Ensures loan disclosure are prepared in accordance with the terms and conditions per the application and in compliance with regulatory requirements including TRID and Reg A.
  • Communicate with loan officers for any additional information needed to prepare loan disclosures.
  • Obtains fee estimates from title or settlement agents and other due diligence as required. 
  • Orders flood certificates, appraisal/evaluations, title work, pulls credit reports and prepares all disclosures, notes and collateral supporting documents on all TRID loans.
  • Ensure work is completed by deadlines and accurately by planning, coordinating and monitoring daily activities.
  • Working knowledge of complex consumer transactions, understanding title reports and exceptions and thorough knowledge of Loan Estimates and Closing Disclosures and other loan documents and ensuring all loan documentation is accurately prepared.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the Loan Officer and staff, including updating loan data into the bank’s computers, and assembling documentation to support customer loan applications and facilitates loan officer approval process and loan closing
  • Ensures that loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, and other relevant data.
  • Prepares, assembles, and verifies accuracy of loan documentation.
  • Checks documents for proper vesting, legal descriptions, closing dates and signatures.
  • Maintains new and paid customer loan files.  Performs variety of clerical duties requiring knowledge of departmental procedures.  Use office computers for data input and other activities. 
  • Answers telephone and written inquires concerning loan processing and information.
  • Cross-markets bank products and services as appropriate.
  • Maintains insurance on collateral.
  • Processes paid-out notes and releases collateral.
  • Orders coupon books.
  • Provides notary services to customers as a licensed Notary Public.
  • Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:      

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of experience in TRID loan processing.
  • Knowledge of Regulations, B, Z, RESPA, Truth-in-Lending, and any other federal and state laws
  • Must demonstrate a high level of attention to detail, inductive reasoning and high accuracy using computer systems to enter large volume of complex information is required.
  • Must be self-educating and able to work with little direct supervision is required.
  • Must be able to work with multiple loan officers and at high volumes.
  • Successful completion of in-house training programs and/or assigned outside training programs.
  • Good understanding of financial institution products and services.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy in spreadsheet, word processing and database applications.

 

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to carry heavy files, up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to access and replace files requiring stooping and step stools.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time, and to stand, walks, reach, climb.
  • Manual dexterity for keyboarding and calculating.
  • Visual acuity and ability to concentrate on details for long periods of time.
