Overview
To manage, supervise and coordinate the maintenance and operations of facilities, equipment, and grounds; provide highly responsible staff assistance and leadership to part time operations and housekeeping employees. Assist and coordinate activities, maintenance and staffing responsibilities with the operations team for the ice rink, basketball court, and any other events in the facilities. Provides overall administrative planning, direction, and policies to operating department to assure the highest quality service program to clients and events.
This role will pay a salary of $50,000 to $60,000.

About the Venue
The Macon Centreplex is comprised of the Macon Coliseum and Macon City Auditorium. The Macon Coliseum is home to tenant hockey team, the Macon Mayhem and sits 9,000 patrons. Family shows, concerts, trade shows, GHSA, among others, are frequent entertainment in the venue. The Macon City Auditorium first opened in 1925 and has hosted iconic greats like Otis Redding, The Allman Brothers, and Little Richard. The venue hosts concerts, weddings, private galas, comedy shows, among other events, in its 2,500 seat space. The 10,000 capacity Amphitheater is due to open in Spring of 2024.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the overseeing of the operations and housekeeping services for the facilities
- Responsible for managing event changeovers; i.e. basketball floor, stage risers, ice install, maintenance, chairs, and signs
- Assists with overseeing operation department part time staff: hiring, training, supervision, evaluation, disciplinary actions and scheduling
- Manage and supervise part-time operations staff
- Lead with operational procedures, processes, and responsibilities as it relates to overall ice rink operations
- Responsible for OSHA compliance and knowledge of changes in Federal, State and Local law
- Participate in the development and administration of the Operations budget; forecast for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies
- Develop long range plans for future events and maintain departmental equipment
- Order supplies, materials and janitorial supplies to maintain the facilities within budget guidelines; receive, store and maintain all supplies and materials
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors
- Maintain hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets and required records and permits; Develop and maintain an accurate record keeping system
- Assist with preparation of departmental payroll for part time staff
- Coordinate, and review the work plan for changeover, facility maintenance and operations; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor work flow; review and evaluate work products, methods and procedures.
- Complete all duties with a customer service focus through teamwork and dedication to OVG’s principles
Nonessential Functions:
- General building maintenance and cleaning (SOP and as scheduled)
- Execution of room set-ups
- Create and execute daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance checklists and upkeep of log.
- Report to Director of Operations on daily and weekly activities, provide maintenance reports
- Assist with weekly staff scheduling
- Attend weekly staff and production meetings
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of equipment and storage rooms
- Be available during all major events to handle operations functions
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university in a related field (Facility Management, Engineering, Sports Management etc.)
- Minimum of three to five (3-5) years’ experience in building maintenance and building conversions, including supervisory responsibilities
- Possess superior interpersonal and strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, handle multiple tasks at one time,
- Must be self-motivated with strong leadership abilities and organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office required
- Working knowledge of operational equipment including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jacks, scrubbers, floor buffers, staging, retractable seating risers, basketball floors and ice install
- Ability to follow written instruction, interpret AutoCAD drawings and blueprints
- Forklift certification desired
- Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) work days and extended number of days
- Experience in Amphitheater venue preferred.

- While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time.
- Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients.
Physical demands:
- While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly moves about the Facilities before/during/after events to service clients and supervise staff; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others and exchange accurate information; occasionally required to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 40 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing and walking. Must be able to work safely in an environment containing caustic chemicals, cleaning materials, debris, dust, and trash.
Work environment:
- The essential functions of this position are usually performed indoors and outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-event times.
