Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Director, The Founder's Room, to lead the front-of-house food and beverage operations of The Founder's Room, a premier restaurant and hospitality experience within The Paramount Baltimore. The F&B Director will work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef to ensure exceptional guest service, operational excellence, financial performance, and a seamless dining experience. As part of the opening team, this position will help establish the service culture, standards, procedures, and team structure for The Founder's Room.

This role pays an annual salary of $150,000 - 160,000 and is bonus eligible.

About The Venue

The Founder's Room is a private members-only club located inside The Paramount Baltimore in Baltimore, Maryland. The club offers members a place to enjoy dining, drinks, and entertainment. Members have access to a private entrance, a members-only bar, private dining rooms, concierge services, early access to tickets and shows, and private events. The Founder's Room provides a space for members to gather before and after concerts and enjoy a dining and entertainment experience.

Responsibilities

Food & Beverage Operations

• Oversee the daily front-of-house food and beverage operation of The Founder's Room.
• Ensure consistent, elevated service and hospitality standards.
• Establish and maintain service procedures, standards, and operating expectations.
• Monitor restaurant operations during service and proactively address issues.
• Direct restaurant operations around concerts, events, VIP experiences, and special functions at The Paramount.
• Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef to ensure seamless FOH and BOH communication.
  
  

Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, train, coach, and develop servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff.
• Assist with hiring and onboarding of the Founder's Room team.
• Establish training programs focused on hospitality, menu knowledge, beverage knowledge, and service standards.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and ensure employees are prepared for each service.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Promote a culture of professionalism, teamwork, accountability, and exceptional hospitality.
  
  

Financial & Operational Management

• Monitor sales, labor, beverage costs, and operating expenses.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and labor planning.
• Monitor staffing levels and adjust schedules based on reservations, events, and business volume.
• Ensure accurate cash handling and POS procedures.
• Assist with inventory management and beverage controls.
• Review sales and operational reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support initiatives designed to increase revenue, guest satisfaction, and profitability.
  
  

Guest Experience

• Maintain a visible presence on the restaurant floor and lead by example.
• Interact with guests and ensure their expectations are exceeded.
• Address guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Monitor service flow, table turns, ticket times, and overall guest satisfaction.
• Assist with VIP and special guest experiences.
  
  

Opening Responsibilities

• Assist with the pre-opening of The Founder's Room.
• Help develop service standards, SOPs, training materials, and staffing plans.
• Participate in menu tastings, service rehearsals, and operational testing.
• Assist with hiring and training the opening team.
• Help establish the culture and hospitality standards of the restaurant from opening day.
  
  

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive food and beverage or restaurant management experience.
• Experience in upscale, full-service, high-volume, or entertainment hospitality preferred.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant service and beverage operations.
• Proven ability to direct, lead, and develop a hospitality team.
• Strong financial and operational understanding.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with POS systems, scheduling, inventory, and cash handling.
• Food safety certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and event days.
