ESP - Instructional (Behavior Support) / Clerical

Job summary:  To inspire and prepare each and every scholar with the confidence, courage and confidence to achieve their dreams, contribute to community, and engage in a lifetime of learning by assisting teaching staff and student with instructional support in the classroom.
 

Responsibilities and tasks include: 

• Support the academic and social-emotional needs of students.
• Assist the Principal, School Counselors, and Instructional Assistants with social-emotional learning and behavior support to individual students.
• Supervise students in large group situations in classroom and other areas of the building or small groups. 
• Work with students individually or in small groups instructionally.
• Assist in small group assessments and data management as it relates to student work in the areas of reading and math.
• Perform functions associated with classroom protocols.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred qualifications include: 

• Highly Qualified - applicants meet the Highly Qualified requirement if they have:
  • Two years of study at an institution of higher education (a minimum of 60 semester credits or the amount required to complete two years of full-time enrollment as determined by the institution attended); OR
  • An associate's degree (or higher); OR
  • Received a passing score on the ParaPro, ParaEducator, or ParaPathways Assessment.

Bargaining unit: Educational Support Professionals

Salary: Classification 1 (clerical) and Classification 2 (instructional); view salary grid on the respective bargaining unit listed above, accessible via our Employee Contracts page

Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 4:00 pm 

FTE: 6 hours/day (4.5 hours instructional; 1.5 hours clerical)
