What are the responsibilities and job description for the Irrigation Technician position at Oak Tree Country Club?
Reporting Structure:
Reports to the Equipment Manager or Superintendent
Perform regular maintenance on irrigation systems, including cleaning and adjusting sprinkler heads to ensure proper function and coverage, and replacing or repairing broken equipment.
Keep all irrigation equipment in good working order by washing, fueling (if applicable), and returning equipment to designated storage areas.
Maintain daily usage records and report any issues or overuse to Superintendent.
Safely operate powered equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, and sod cutters, as well as mowers for gold course greens, aprons, and tees, when required.
Ensure equipment and tools are kept out of the play area and minimize noise to avoid disturbing golfers.
Respond promptly to after-hours emergencies as needed.
Keep department heads informed of major issues and progress in a timely manner.
Keep all areas on the golf course, including tee boxes, flowerbeds, and work carts, free of debris.
Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.

Maintain a high level of professionalism and a commitment to excellence in interactions with members, colleagues, and staff.

Required
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Preferred
A minimum of 2 years of experience in golf course irrigation and satellite systems.
Irrigation association certification or backflow device inspection and maintenance certification.
- Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with various types of golf course maintenance equipment, including understanding replacement parts, supplies, and resources needed for equipment upkeep and repair.
Primarily outdoors with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.
Sitting, standing, walking, climbing/ladders, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling, twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs., talking, hearing, and seeing.
Primary Tools/Equipment:
Construction tools (shovels, axes, sledgehammers, etc.)
Gardening tools (pruners, rakes, hedge shears, trimmers, etc.)
Blowers
Water pumps
