Role Overview
This is a full-time Director, Business Development role focused on driving growth and expanding Oak Services Group’s managed services and fractional accounting practice. This role will be responsible for originating, developing, and closing new client relationships while serving as a strategic partner to the Company’s leadership team in helping shape the future growth of the organization.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in business development within public accounting, advisory, or professional services organizations, with a demonstrated history of quota attainment, executive-level relationship management, and selling high-value recurring professional services engagements.
This role is designed for an individual who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and wants to play an instrumental role in building a scalable, recurring revenue business alongside an experienced leadership team. The position offers substantial opportunity for professional growth, leadership influence, and long-term earning potential within an early-stage organization.
Expected On-Target Earnings (OTE): $150,000 annually during the initial growth phase, consisting of a mix of base compensation, commissions, and performance incentives.
Compensation structure may be customized based on experience level, existing network, business development track record, and overall strategic value brought to the organization.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Drive new business development activities and generate recurring managed services and fractional accounting engagements for Oak Services Group.
- Build and maintain relationships with CEOs, founders, private equity groups, senior executives, and other decision-makers across target markets.
- Develop and execute sales strategies designed to support long-term recurring revenue growth.
- Manage the full business development lifecycle, including prospecting, pipeline development, proposal coordination, negotiation, and closing activities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to prospective clients by understanding their accounting, finance, operational, and organizational challenges.
- Collaborate closely with leadership and delivery teams to ensure successful client onboarding and long-term client satisfaction.
- Help shape and refine the Company’s sales processes, go-to-market strategies, pricing approaches, and client engagement models.
- Maintain accurate pipeline management and reporting activities utilizing CRM and business development technologies.
- Represent Oak Services Group professionally at networking events, conferences, industry associations, and executive meetings.
- Support the continued development of the Company’s brand and market presence within the accounting and professional services ecosystem.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- 5-10 years of progressive business development, sales, or practice growth experience within public accounting, advisory, consulting, or professional services organizations.
- Prior experience working within BDO or other leading national, regional, or large public accounting firms strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in quota-carrying sales roles with a consistent track record of revenue generation and client acquisition.
- Experience developing executive-level relationships and engaging directly with CEOs, CFOs, founders, boards, and senior leadership teams.
- Proven ability to sell high-value professional services engagements, including recurring monthly engagements and annual client relationships with significant contract values.
- Existing professional network and relationship base within accounting, finance, professional services, private equity, startup, or middle-market business communities preferred.
- Strong understanding of professional services business models and consultative sales processes.
- Startup or entrepreneurial experience is a plus.
- Team leadership or practice leadership experience is preferred, though high-performing senior individual contributors will also be considered.
- Familiarity with CRM and sales enablement technologies including Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Apollo, or similar platforms preferred.
- Accounting, finance, or operational business knowledge strongly preferred.
