What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) position at Oak Ridge Endodontics?
We're growing, and we'd love for you to grow with us.
Oak Ridge Endodontics is a specialty practice dedicated entirely to endodontics. We're adding a second doctor, and we're looking for a dental assistant who wants to be part of a team that takes patient care seriously and treats its people the same way. Our goal for every patient is simple: a seamless, comfortable experience delivered with kindness and skill.
Why you'll like working here
- Focused scope — root canal therapy and related procedures, not general dentistry
- Small, close-knit team where your work is seen and your input matters
- Modern equipment and a well-organized clinical environment
- Room to grow: a lead assistant role opens as our second doctor ramps up
- Health insurance, 401(k) with match, 10 days PTO
- Scrubs provided
What you'll do
- Greet patients and help them feel at ease from the moment they arrive
- Prepare treatment rooms and set up instruments, equipment, and materials for each procedure
- Assist the doctor chairside using four-handed dentistry
- Take and process dental radiographs
- Sterilize instruments and maintain OSHA infection-control standards
- Give patients clear post-operative care instructions
- Keep treatment rooms clean, stocked, and ready
- Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant patient records and draft referral correspondence to referring doctors, including inserting and labeling clinical photos in reports
What we're looking for
- Tennessee dental radiology certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- 1 years of chairside dental assisting; endodontic experience is a plus but not required
- Working knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and safety regulations
- Comfortable with [practice software], Microsoft Word, and basic photo handling in documents
- Warm, professional communicator who's kind to patients and collaborative with the team
- Organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Positive, professional demeanor and willingness to learn new procedures
- Tennessee RDA or EFDA certification is a plus
Physical requirements
This role involves prolonged standing and sitting, fine motor work, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs, and exposure to sharps and radiation with appropriate protective equipment.
How to apply
Submit your resume through Indeed. A short note about why this role interests you is welcome but not required. We look forward to meeting you.
