DISTRICT 97 EXPECTATIONS
All District 97 employees are expected to:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Information System: Leads and directs all efforts related to the student information system, currently PowerSchool. Initiates system tasks, identifies failures and abnormalities, initiates corrective action, and recommends and controls system recoveries to reestablish effective operations. Understands, directs, and coordinates activities of internal and external client/server systems and Department.
Registration: Oversee the entire registration process, including goal setting, strategy implementation, event coordination, residency and back end configurations (meetings with various department heads, InfoSnap configurations team, technology, updating InfoSnap communications documents, etc.).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Registration:
Oversee the entire registration process, including goal setting, strategy implementation, event coordination, residency and back end configurations (meetings with various department heads, InfoSnap configurations team, technology, updating InfoSnap communications documents, etc.)
Handle highly confidential information with integrity
Oversee specialty enrollments (homeless, Hephzibah, out-of-district special education)
Oversee special education enrollment – 10.18’s and movement affiliated with 10.18
Serve as project manager for the early admissions process, returning student registration, kindergarten registration, and transfer student enrollment
Provide workflow and direction to the Registrar and Residency Officers
Gather, log, and process student record requests for Registrar to prepare and send
Maintain and oversee registration software (provide software permissions for appropriate staff, manage issues with school staff and usage, data cleaning-expired leases, not at correct school, birthday not in the correct grade, special education has the correct designations)
Assist with residency hearings as they reach a high level.
Issue letters of non-residency
Provide data for required monthly and yearly District and State reports (building numbers, number of homeless enrollment, diversity numbers, etc.)
Handle all escalated customer service issues (custody cases, appeals, complaints, etc.)
Ensures that student records are sent on time according to Illinois School Code

Student Information System:
Primary responsibility for supervising the completion of all state reports related to student information.
Supervises and assists with all issues surrounding state reporting.
Responsible for security functionality of the hardware and software student information system.
Lead the design, installation, test, and implementation of solutions needed for access and security issues related to student information systems.
Lead the design, installation, test, and implementation of solutions needed for applications systems functions related to student information systems.
Understand, document and configure hardware and software related to student information systems, and dependent systems for IP addressing, printer interface and disk management.
Determine and schedule resources needed to deliver student information system upgrades.
Supervise and assist with the problem solving and troubleshooting activities for production events related to student information systems.
Supervise and assist in the proactive monitoring of systems reliability and of system hardware/software. Correct all deficiencies through own efforts or outside support services as needed.
Lead project management in student information systems as assigned.
Develop, maintain, and monitor database access system tools related to student information systems.
Supervise and assess equipment performance to ensure maximum production related to student information systems. Review equipment and staff log reports to assess equipment malfunctions and either solves problems or refers to service technician. Schedules, or coordinates with service technicians, downtime for maintenance or emergency repairs.
Supervise, coordinate and provide training activities with other departments, track progress, produce necessary documentation and status reports.
Supervise and design the data interchange between applications systems at end of period events related to financial and student information systems.
Responsible for data archival procedures and implementation of restores.
Monitor environmental control systems and take appropriate action when required.
Provides users support to provide necessary reports via data mining and data warehouse systems.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Strong understanding of project management methods and practices, including methods of creating designs, plans, specifications, estimates, reports, tests, and recommendations.
Knowledge of current instructional and assessment practices.
Ability to coordinate and supervise projects that involve multiple departments and school sites.
Ability to develop innovative and efficient processes to enhance productivity and respond to changing financial expectations of the school district, state, and federal policies and regulations.

Bachelor's Degree
