We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our veterinary clinic and pet care team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional care to animals, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting veterinary staff with daily operations. Duties
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and animal areas to ensure a hygienic environment
- Feed, water, and monitor animals’ health status throughout their stay
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury or stress
- Observe animals for signs of illness or distress
- Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and medication
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with the front desk employee
Skills
- Experience in dog handling, kennel operations preferred, but will train
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and animal care best practices
- Strong animal handling skills with patience and compassion for pets of all temperaments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting animals or supplies)
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of pet health monitoring is a plus
