General Maintenance / Handyman
Location: Chilhowie, VA
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, motivated General Maintenance / Handyman to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, solving problems, and taking pride in keeping a facility operating safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, willing to learn, and comfortable performing a wide variety of maintenance, repair, and general labor tasks. No two days are exactly the same, making this a great position for someone who enjoys variety.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
- Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting tasks.
- Repair doors, walls, flooring, shelving, and other facility components.
- Assemble and install furniture, equipment, and fixtures.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
- Replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, filters, and other routine maintenance items.
- Assist with moving equipment, materials, and furniture.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and other maintenance equipment safely.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous maintenance, construction, landscaping, or handyman experience is a plus but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve basic maintenance issues.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work on ladders and perform physical tasks throughout the day.
- Strong attendance and dependable work ethic.
- Valid driver’s license preferred
