Oak Grove School District has a total student enrollment of approximately 8,690 from grades TK-8. There are 15 elementary schools and 3 intermediate schools. Six out of seventeen schools receive Title I funds. Schools range from the highest student enrollment (730) to the lowest student enrollment (269). The percentage of English Learners is 29% representing 56 languages spoken in the district. Oak Grove School District’s focus is driven by the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) and school site-specific SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement) which identifies short, intermediate, and long-term goals. First and foremost in all activities is the safety of students as well as student success in the areas of math and reading/language arts interwoven with science, social studies and visual and performing arts. Student performance goals have been integrated into the state and federal accountability systems. Annually, the LCAP and SPSA's are updated with our students, staff and various community groups in keeping with our core values, the vision, and the annual goals. Requirements / Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a valid Class B California Driver’s License and Driver’s License Information Request obtained from the California Department of Motor Vehicles. A copy of these items must be submitted with the application. Knowledge of: the methods, materials, practices, and tools of the mechanic’s trade; the operation and repair characteristics of school buses, trucks, vans, automobiles, and other mechanically operated equipment; safety rules and regulations as they pertain to mechanical servicing repair; gasoline and diesel engines and their operation; gas and electrical welding as applied to mechanical repairs. Skill to: understand and follow oral and written instructions; diagnose and repair a variety of vehicle and mechanical malfunctions; safely use and operate the tools, machines, and equipment associated with the mechanic trade; perform arc and gas welding; maintain appropriate maintenance records and files; establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties. Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to successfully perform required duties.
