What are the responsibilities and job description for the Late Stay Teacher position at Oak Grove Montessori School?
Oak Grove Montessori School is hiring for Summer Camp, with the opportunity to continue into the Fall!
We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic candidate age 18 to join our community Monday–Friday from 2:00–6:00 PM.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children (ages 6 weeks–6 years) in a calm, nurturing Montessori environment.
What your afternoon may look like:
- Assisting teachers as children wake from nap and transition into the afternoon
- Helping maintain and reset the Montessori environment
- Supporting children through diapering/toileting, snack, and individual work
- Preparing the classroom for the next day
- Transitioning to Late Stay at 3:15 PM, where you’ll work alongside another staff member to supervise outdoor play, snack, and simple art or practical life activities
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Warm, patient, and dependable
- Comfortable being outdoors with children
- Engaged, observant, and ready to participate in child-led activity
- Able to follow routines and support a peaceful environment
Requirements:
Must pass a comprehensive background check
- Must complete state-required trainings within the first 30 days (online Health & Safety, virtual Fire Safety, and in-person CPR/First Aid)
There are also opportunities to substitute for additional hours throughout the day, depending on your availability.
