Oak City Pizza & Grill is seeking a dependable, motivated Assistant General Manager to help lead our restaurant team and support daily operations. This is a great opportunity for someone with restaurant experience who is ready to take the next step into a leadership position.
The Assistant General Manager will work closely with ownership to ensure team members consistently follow our service, food quality, safety, and cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage team members during assigned shifts
- Ensure restaurant policies, procedures, and operating standards are consistently followed
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and training new employees
- Coach team members and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Help maintain proper staffing and shift coverage
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and product organization
- Review portion control and food preparation practices to reduce inconsistency and unnecessary costs
- Ensure food waste and product loss are accurately documented
- Monitor food quality, presentation, ticket times, and customer service
- Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and cleaning standards are followed
- Complete opening, closing, and shift-management responsibilities
- Address customer concerns professionally and help create a positive guest experience
- Communicate operational issues, staffing concerns, and maintenance needs to ownership
- Support a respectful, accountable, and team-oriented work environment
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, food-service, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead by example and hold team members accountable
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn all areas of restaurant operations
- Available to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift restaurant inventory and supplies as needed
- Food safety certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
