Oak and Embers Tavern in HUDSON is currently looking for a motivated, energetic and professional Grill Line Cook to join our team!

Oak and Embers Tavern serves authentic smokehouse barbeque along with an incredible array of bourbons, including carefully crafted bourbon cocktails and bourbon flights, and craft beer.

The Oak and Embers process and recipes have been refined and perfected after many trips to the Carolina's, Georgia and Kentucky. Each entree, side dish and dessert is scratch-made from original and thoughtfully created recipes using locally farmed produce and fresh ingredients. Our meats are hand-selected and wood-smoked for hours to heighten flavor and texture - pink, tender meat is proof.

The Grill Line Cook we are looking for will prepare foods to the exact chef's specifications and to set up stations for the menu. Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the Kitchen Manager and Supervisor with their daily task and contributing to customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, etc)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of kitchen staff
• Answer, report and follow sous chef or supervisors instructions
• Clean up station and take care of left over food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Requirements

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures and knife handling skills
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Ability to be on your feet for 8 or more hours a day
• Comfortable working as a team in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
• Ability to read and follow cooking instructions
• Ability to stand, bend, stretch, lift and carry heavy materials

Pay Type: Competitive Hourly Wages

Position Type: Full-time, Evening Shifts available - Must be available Weekends and Holidays
