What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pantry Cook position at Oahu country Club?
We are currently looking for a Pantry Cook to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing salads, appetizers, sandwich fillings, and prepping cold dishes by performing following duties. Cooks must be available on Days, Nights, Weekends & Holidays. Local candidates strongly preferred, candidates must be available for an in-person interview. We are a non-tipping club.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Washes, peels, slices, and mixes vegetables, fruits, or prep ingredients for salads, cold plates, and garnishes.
- Carves and slices cold meats and cheese.
- Portions and arranges food on serving dishes.
- Prepares fruit or seafood cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
- Measures and mixes ingredients to make salad dressings, cocktail sauces, gelatin salads plated for ala Carte.
- Prepares Cold desserts, following recipes, makes sandwiches to order.
- Able to prepare mixed and assorted salads for cold buffet.
- Rotates products and maintains quali1y and correct portion for all products being served.
- Prepares breakfast and dessert fruits such as melons, grapefruit, and bananas.
Qualifications:
- Sound fundamental of cooking knowledge
- Accurate reading of menu’s and recipes
- Proficient knife skills
- Knowledge of all areas in the Cold Food kitchen
- Knowledge of pastry production principles.
- Understanding of culinary terminology.
- High School graduate or GED
- Certificate or diploma from a recognized bakery and pastry culinary arts training or degree program.
- At least three years of experience as a pastry chef in a retail, club, hotel, restaurant, or institutional setting.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates, or permits.
- TB clearance required.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent standing and walking.
- Frequent finger dexterity when operating equipment.
- Regularly carrying and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs
- Occasional bending, reaching.
