Senior SOX Compliance Analyst

Location: Remote (Preference for candidates in NJ / NY / CT)

We are seeking an experienced Senior SOX Compliance Analyst to support SOX compliance initiatives for a leading financial services organization. The role involves identifying, documenting, assessing, and executing IT application and IT General Controls (ITGCs) in alignment with SOX requirements. You will work closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external auditors to ensure effective control design and operation.

• Identify and document key IT application controls impacting financial reporting systems, including:
• Input, processing, output, interface, and access controls
• Define, document, and maintain IT General Controls (ITGCs) across:
• Access management
• Change management
• IT operations
• SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
• Conduct process walkthroughs and risk assessments to evaluate control design and effectiveness
• Execute assigned IT controls and ensure proper evidence collection
• Maintain up-to-date SOX control documentation aligned with internal policies and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during testing, issue resolution, and remediation cycles
• Track control deficiencies, coordinate remediation activities, and validate corrective actions
• Monitor system and process changes that may impact SOX compliance
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the IT control framework, including automation opportunities

• 10 years of experience in IT Audit, IT Compliance, or SOX IT Controls
• Strong hands-on experience with SOX, ITGCs, and IT application controls
• Financial services industry experience (required)
• Knowledge of IT risk frameworks such as COBIT and NIST
• Experience creating and managing user role definitions and access controls
• Exposure to Workday is a plus
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
