Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining OUR CNC lathe programs Using MASTERCAM- . Your expertise will ensure that complex components are produced efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. Responsibilities
- Develop and write CNC programs for various machining centers, including CNC milling machines and CNC lathes, utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as Mastercam
- Interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, ensuring all specifications are accurately translated into machine code.
- Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools like MASTERCAM to create or modify part models and tooling layouts as needed.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure parts meet precise dimensional requirements.
- Set up machining operations by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters based on material properties and design specifications.
- Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments such as bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and bore gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Optimize machining processes through lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Troubleshoot programming issues or machine malfunctions promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, adjustments, and inspection results for quality control purposes.
- Collaborate with engineers and machinists to refine manufacturing processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC programming for lathes using Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Strong proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or equivalent tools.
- Solid understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and GD&T standards for precise manufacturing.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in tooling selection, geometry calculations, and machining techniques.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
- Ability to operate precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficient workflows and waste reduction.
- Excellent math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, speeds, feeds, and geometric relationships.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot programming issues or machine errors quickly.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members across departments.
