Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of mechanics, welders, drivers, and shop personnel
- Oversee fleet maintenance, repairs, inspections, and compliance
- Maximize equipment uptime, availability, and utilization
- Manage purchasing, vendor relationships, and cost control
- Support operations by ensuring the right equipment is available at the right time
- Develop preventative maintenance programs and performance metrics
- Partner daily with Operations Managers and project teams to keep projects moving safely and efficiently
Skills
- 8 years of leadership experience in fleet management, equipment management, maintenance operations, construction, demolition, heavy civil, mining, transportation, aggregates, or a related industry
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Experience managing heavy equipment and truck fleets
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Proven experience with budgeting, purchasing, and vendor negotiations
- A proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards applicable to transportation and fleet operations.
