Duties
- Operate heavy construction equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and dump trucks to perform earthmoving, grading, lifting, and material transportation tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Follow all safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating equipment and handling materials.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials using appropriate material handling equipment such as front loaders, water trucks, or tanker trucks.
- Assist with site preparation activities including excavation, trenching, and site leveling to support project milestones.
- Coordinate with team members to execute construction plans efficiently while adhering to project timelines and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety checks for accountability and compliance.
Skills
- Proven experience operating a variety of construction machinery including dozers, loaders, excavators, cranes (including crane operation), backhoes, and dump trucks.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics systems, mechanical maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques for heavy equipment.
- Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and conduct basic repairs or coordinate maintenance as needed.
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols, PPE (personal protective equipment) use, and occupational safety regulations.
- Experience with concrete mixers, water trucks, roll-off trucks, farm machinery, tankers or similar large vehicles is highly desirable.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments on-site.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with a proactive approach to safety ensures a secure work environment for everyone involved.
