Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mover role located in Portland, OR. Movers are responsible for safely loading, unloading, and transporting household and commercial goods, including packing items, wrapping furniture, and securing cargo in trucks. The role includes working as part of a crew to follow job assignments, protect customers’ property, and ensure items arrive in good condition and on schedule. Daily tasks also involve basic use of moving equipment, following safety procedures, and interacting with customers in a professional and respectful manner. Movers may assist with storage activities, such as organizing items in vaults or containers, and may support warehouse operations as needed.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy items throughout the workday, with safe body mechanics.
- Basic understanding of packing, wrapping, and securing furniture and goods to prevent damage during transport.
- Skill in using common moving tools and equipment (e.g., dollies, hand trucks, straps, blankets) and following safety guidelines.
- Reliable teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with crew members and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Professional customer service skills, including courteous communication and respectful treatment of customers and their property.
- Strong attention to detail and time management to complete moves efficiently and accurately according to schedule.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are preferred; eligibility to operate company vehicles is a plus.
- Previous moving, warehouse, or general labor experience is helpful but not required; willingness to learn and follow company training is essential.
