Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Concrete Finisher to join our team at O'Malley Construction, Inc. The Company specializes in seasonal highway heavy road work such as curb & gutter, walks, medians and etc. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming freshly poured concrete into smooth, durable surfaces that meet precise specifications. Your expertise in concrete finishing techniques, combined with your knowledge of construction processes, will help us deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. If you know how to curb pull as a finisher that would be a great skill that we are looking for.
Requirements
- Must be over 18 Years old
- Ability to work outdoors in hot and physically demanding conditions.
- Willing to join Union
- Achieve Certification in ADA installations and decorative erosion concrete
Duties
- Smooth and finish concrete surfaces using hand tools such as trowels, floats, and edgers to achieve a high-quality finish.
- Install rebar and metal mesh reinforcement according to blueprints and schematics to ensure structural integrity.
- Operate power tools including concrete mixers, pumps, and vibrating screeds to facilitate efficient pouring and finishing processes.
- Read blueprints and schematics accurately to determine placement, dimensions, and specifications for concrete work.
- Assist with concrete pumping operations and manage the use of hand tools for detailed finishing tasks.
- Collaborate with team members on site safety practices, grade stakes, and project coordination to ensure seamless workflow.
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction sites with a focus on exterior concrete finishing.
- Hands-on experience with rebar installation, form building, and concrete pouring techniques.
- Knowledge of various tools including hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and concrete pumps.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining precision in finishing work.
- Strong understanding of safety standards related to construction sites and concrete operations.
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving or operating heavy equipment may be preferred but not mandatory.
