O’Fallon Family Eyecare is growing, and we’re looking for a full-time Optometric Technician to join our team.
We’re searching for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, loves learning new skills, and takes pride in providing an exceptional patient experience. Previous optometric or ophthalmic experience is strongly preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who brings a fantastic attitude, strong work ethic, and great communication skills.
As an Optometric Technician, you’ll work directly with patients and doctors throughout the day, helping provide efficient, high-quality eye care.
Responsibilities include:
- Obtaining patient histories and chief complaints
- Measuring visual acuity and performing preliminary testing
- Operating diagnostic equipment including Optos retinal imaging, OCT, visual fields, topography, and autorefractors
- Contact lens insertion and removal training
- Assisting doctors during patient visits
- Educating patients on treatments and recommendations
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Helping create a welcoming, positive experience for every patient
