Job Description
- CNC Machinist, CMM Operator, Aerospace, Growing Company
Responsibilities Include
- Shall adhere to all safety requirements as posted on the job safety card.
- Shall consistently follow all applicable work instructions.
- Shall receive instruction and daily work assignments from the Tool Room Engineering Manager.
- Analyze drawings and solid models of precision parts to determine the most efficient sequence of operations required for machining.
- Design fixtures and tooling necessary for production and toolroom.
- 3D solid modeling and surface modeling.
- Observes first article production and inspection to verify process is followed and results are conforming.
- Develop new and optimize existing CMM programs using PC-DMIS software.
- Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications as needed to ensure CMM programs measure and record all customer requirements.
- Shall maintain all required inspection records, files, and vouchers, where accuracy is paramount.
- Shall maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition, and keep noise level to a minimum.
- Shall perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Advanced machining technology coursework, with 5 years' experience in similar field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge and experience of Solidworks and Mastercam software is required.
- Extensive knowledge of fixture design and machining principles pertaining to CNC machines is essential for this position.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of materials and their machining characteristics.
- Good understanding of GD&T.
- Strong communication skills.
- Candidate should be respectful and team oriented, building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
