O’Dell Law Group, APC is a fast-growing law Firm and has an immediate opening for a Litigation Legal Assistant.
Position Summary
The Legal Assistant is a critical member of the litigation team, providing high-level administrative and organizational support to multiple litigation attorneys functioning in a team capacity. The ideal candidate ensures smooth and efficient management of legal cases by assisting with document preparation, case coordination, scheduling, and communications with court officials and has a strong background in various areas of law, including but not limited to labor and employment law. The role requires excellent organizational skills and attention to details in a fast-paced environment. The Legal Assistant is expected to maintain high standards of professionalism and excellence in all interactions and communications.
Essential Functions
The following list of responsibilities for this position includes but is not limited to:
- Draft, format, proofread, and finalize legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, judicial forms and correspondence, as well as ensuring that all signature pages, attachments, exhibits or enclosures are accurate and complete before distribution
- File documents with state courts electronically using the Firm’s electronic service provider and with federal courts through CM/ECF, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines, procedures and local rules
- File and serve documents in various arbitration forums
- Docket court-rule based deadlines, events, and other key dates
- Manage attorneys’ calendars, coordinating court dates, and depositions
- Schedule and confirm appointments with court reporters
- Prepare and enter expense reports with billing-related documentation
- Monitor deadlines, including budget and reports, and follow up on outstanding tasks to ensure timely completion
- Track electronic filings with the courts to ensure successful transmission
- Maintain client and general files in designated folders with confidentiality
- Other duties assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- 5 years of litigation experience, preferably supporting multiple attorneys in a mid-size law firm
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Pro
- Experience with legal document management software, such as Clio Manage, Clio Grow
- Familiarity with legal terminology, processes, and protocols
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and adapt to shifting priorities
- Well-versed in electronic filings with courts.
Work Environment
- The Firm’s hybrid policy allows for three remote workdays per week. The remaining days require onsite presence at the Orange County office.

The pay range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience and expertise.
