We are seeking a full-time pharmacist to staff both our dispensing area and our non-sterile lab. Duties include, but are not limited to, taking prescriptions and orders, creating new compounding formulas, advising patients about prescription and non-prescription items, processing compounded prescriptions, and compounding troches, capsules, creams, and suspensions. Excellent accuracy, phone etiquette, organizational skills, and attention to detail are a must. We are closed weekends, major holidays, and evenings. Bonus pay, health/dental, and other perks! Job Description:
· Accepting written and verbal prescriptions or refill requests from patients and doctor offices and evaluating information for completeness and accuracy.
· Recording and verifying patient medical histories and profile information while maintaining confidentiality and patient medication safety.
· Evaluating medication safety and use.
· Communicating pharmacological knowledge with patients, other staff members, doctors, and doctors’ offices.
· Counseling patients about their medications.
· Delivering quality customer service to patients, doctors, and office staff, responding to inquiries, questions, or requests.
· Accurately filling, labeling, and packaging of medications and prescriptions.
· Performing inventory audits and purchasing supplies and medication.
· Accurately taking, documenting, and assembling orders.
· Remaining abreast of and following current pharmacy and compounding laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
· Formulation of extemporaneously compounded medications including using necessary resources and references for correct formulation, calculations, storage, pH, isotonicity, beyond-use dating, and other considerations.
· Accurately and safely compounding sterile and non-sterile medications as duties require.
· Monitoring and evaluating technician work.
· Accurately filling and checking medications for dispensing.
· Recommend, counsel on, and answer patient questions about complementary therapies.
· Other duties as required.
