About The Role
Project Engineers at O'Brien Construction work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators to support the successful execution of construction projects, from pre-construction through final completion and close-out. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer ready to take ownership of project details and contribute to work that is delivered on time, on budget, and built to a high standard. This role will support an upcoming ground-up project in Bettendorf, IA with additional work to follow across the state of Iowa.

About The Role
Project Engineers at O'Brien Construction work alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, and Estimators to support the successful execution of construction projects, from pre-construction through final completion and close-out. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer ready to take ownership of project details and contribute to work that is delivered on time, on budget, and built to a high standard. This role will support an upcoming ground-up project in Bettendorf, IA with additional work to follow across the state of Iowa.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules, budgets, and plans.
- Manage document control, including submittals, RFIs, and meeting minutes.
- Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely material deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Assist with estimating extra work, preparing correspondence, and expediting project tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards.
- Proactively identify and resolve project challenges.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Participate in the Job Rotation Program to gain valuable experience in various construction disciplines (Assistant Superintendent, Assistant Estimator, Assistant Project Manager).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction-related software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong work ethic and a desire to learn and grow within the construction industry.
