Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA), UHS Wilson Medical Center United Health Services is seeking a Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Cardiothoracic 04 department at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. This position is benefits eligible. Shift: Day Hours per week: 40 Salary range: Depends on Experience Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant (PA) / Overview Key Responsibilities and Expectations UHS is seeking an experienced physician assistant (PA) to join our growing cardiothoracic surgery service line. Position Responsibilities: Coordinate patient care. Counsel patients about concerns under the direction of the supervising physician(s). Round on patients admitted to the hospital; review care plans with nursing staff as established by our physicians. Assist in the operating room. Vein Harvest experience required. Perform physical assessments on patients and complete patient histories. Complete discharge summaries. Order medications, treatments, labs, etc. Be available for call about patient conditions according to the pre-established schedule. Includes holiday responsibilities. Other duties as determined by the supervising physician(s). Education and Skills Required: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA). Current licensure with the state of New York as a physician assistant (PA). Completion of an accredited PA program. Master of Science in Physician Assistant related field Good verbal and written communication skills.
