Company Description
NYU Violet OP is a leading student-run esports organization at New York University, currently fielding multiple competitive teams in titles such as Valorant, with plans to expand into League of Legends and add additional rosters.
In addition to competition, we focus on building a full-scale esports operation, including broadcast production, content creation, marketing, and design. Our mission is to create an inclusive environment where students of all skill levels can participate, while also developing the practical skills needed to run a high-level esports organization.
Role Description
The Broadcast Producer / Technical Director is responsible for executing high-quality live esports broadcasts, including scene switching, overlay management, and stream coordination. This role works closely with observers, casters, and production staff to deliver a seamless viewing experience.
Loose Required Qualifications
- Experience with (or willingness to learn) live streaming or production software such as OBS Studio or vMix
- Ability to manage scene transitions, overlays, and multiple video/audio inputs in a live environment
- Strong real-time decision-making skills and ability to perform under pressure
- Basic understanding of audio mixing and video signal flow
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced production setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience producing or assisting with live broadcasts, streams, or events
- Familiarity with esports titles and spectator/observer systems
- Experience with broadcast graphics and overlays
- Working knowledge of platforms such as Twitch or YouTube Live
- Basic video editing experience (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro)
- Interest in esports production, media, or live event operations
